Today was our last day to visit the Portland area. We are sad to leave such a nice place, and we definately plan on coming back on a more permanent basis. So, on our last day, we decided that the best thing we could do was hit the mall. But really, it was part of our last tour of the great character-filled downtown Portland area. We also managed to make our way to a riverside park in Washington, along the Columbia river. In all it was a great last day except for the very end where we headed to the airport. Upon arrival, we learned that our flight was going to be delayed 30 minutes. Soon thereafter, I happened to login to the airport’s website (using their nifty free wifi access) and noticed that the flight was now marked as cancelled. This left us stranded in Portland with nowhere to go. Thankfully the airline gave us a free night’s stay at a local Holiday Inn with some dinner and breakfast vouchers. I am writing this entry from the hotel now, when in fact, if the plane had left on time, I would be home by now.
